Food and drinks are available to purchase onboard The Taieri Gorge, so you can enjoy something to eat or drink during the approximately five-hour return journey between Dunedin and Pukerangi.
The onboard café is operated by Precinct.
Precinct Food
Good journeys deserve good food, and that’s where our friends at Precinct come in.
Precinct is a Dunedin food and hospitality team who care about making things well. Their food is creative, seasonal and thoughtfully made, with a focus on great ingredients and flavours that people genuinely want to eat.
You might already know them from their café at Tūhura Otago Museum, but you’ll also find their food onboard our scenic train journeys. The Precinct team creates our seasonal onboard menu, with locally made food, snacks and refreshments to enjoy while Dunedin rolls past the window.
We think they’re a pretty good travelling companion.
